BEJSC Awards Evening

Swimming Section Awards for 2009/2010 Season

The Bourne End Sports Club Awards Evening is a great opportunity for us to see what is happening in the other sections of the Sports Club and where some of our swimmers are involved both in club and other section activities.

Within the swimming section this is our opportunity to award swimmers and parents who have contributed to the swimming section over the last year.

Select the tabs for the worthy winners this year and in previous years

Brudelin Trophy Contribution to the Club Emma Lewington

Emma started off at Bourne End Swimming Club as a swimmer where she progressed through the squads until a succession of injuries caused her to retire from training and competition. However, rather than walking away from the sport, Emma continued her training as a teacher and as a life guard and has spent much of the last 4 years poolside taking junior teaching squads or standing as our lifeguard.
Emma is off to university this year and it is our pleasure to acknowledge her fine contribution to our club and our swimmers with this Brudelin Award.

Williams Cup Most Improved Swimmer Connor McKillop

Connor joined our club mach later than his peers and so started behind the others in terms of fitness and technique. Over the last year, Connor has caught up with his peers by always attending his training sessions, training hard and improving in leaps and bounds. Connor is a credit to our club and a great example of what you an achieve through hard work. Well done Connor.

Sutton Williams Cup Senior Endeavour Megan Cox

Megan as an easy choice for this award. She has always approached training seriously, been the hardest working swimmer in her lane and combines this with an easy and relaxed approach to what are often hard training sessions we set. Well done Megan on a great performance.

Rimmer Trophy Junior Endeavour Elliot Walker

When the Rimmer family put up this award, they wanted to recognise a club swimmer from our junior ranks who shows commitment to their swimming at every level. Elliot more than fits the bill here, he trains hard, knows what he needs to improve and tries his hardest to achieve his next target and does it all with great focus and energy. Good job Elliot.

We present three sets of awards each year. The first are the sprint cups and distance shields which are awarded to the swimmers who performed best overall in the two club championships in the Spring and Autumn.

The club recognises that many of our swimmers train hard and compete well without necessariliy being the fastest in their age group.
